I would like to thank my family first and foremost for sticking with me and helping me through the worst of times and best of times. I would like to thank my friends, and I like to thank those who have bought my book. This is a hard book to write for me, and if you ever have any comments about the story or ways I could make it better always contact me. I’m always up for critics.

Thanks

Chapter One

Straight Off The Boat

Desiree stood with her hair tied back in a braid. Alone, scared, and knowing what she had done to get where she was. Her horse was gone. She carried her gear, which was just a bag of rations, and a sword on her back. She wore leather skin tunic, and pants. She wore sandals. She sold everything that was precious to her, just to get enough money to escape the horror that lied behind her. She looked at the sky, not a hint of a cloud or a drop of rain. There was however a hot breeze. She gathered that is what happened in the desert. She won’t find comfort here as a warrior women. She did her share of farming and that had gotten old to her. It was very old, and tiring to think of her life up until this point. But she would have no thoughts of the past, that was the past and that is where it would stay.

Now where did she go? She had some coins left from her sale of her horse alone to pay for a room at a luxury inn. She however planned on rationing the money, and buying her some sort of transportation in the desert. She needed a replacement horse. She was now seventeen and felt thirty-five in experiences.

“You look lost.” She blinked. Some sailor approached her. He looked in his twenties.

“Yes, I’m trying to figure out where to stay. Do you know where the best place would be?” She had the ration bag swung over her shoulder. She needed a pouch around the waist. That was another investment she should be looking for.

Love Bite Snib Bit

I decided to post a snib bit from my book Love Bite, posted on LULU to be purchased now. Its 140 pages, and its the first in a series of Vampire Books. :) I decided to post the first page this time. The whole book can be purchased or downloaded from Lulu, and if you want to option it. I'm up for it. I might try to see if I can find someone interested in helping me produce this tv-pilot, and submit it to stations for possible distribution deals. Or you can buy it off me. Anyway, here is the post. Its a bit long, so be aware.

Chapter One

The rain pounded down on the empty road ahead. There was lighting and crashing of thunder. All Beth Anne could hope for is to find shelter for the night. The nightmares would of course come later when they reached their destination. She was alone. She rode in her carriage with the driver she hoped would get her to the visible shelter ahead. She hoped they would reach there in one piece and that he wouldn’t turn around. She paid him enough to get her to her destination safely.

They saw the castle in the distance. They saw it during the daylight. They were lost and thought they could find shelter in the night. But then, it had to rain and be so pitch black dark that there was no hope in knowing if they picked the right road. Or more over, did her driver pick the right road. He wasn’t the smartest person. All Beth Anne wanted was a place to rest her head and someplace to get away from people like her driver. She was lucky he put money ahead of his duty. She was lucky she wasn’t dead.

“We are almost there! I see the gates! They are opening!” The driver yelled at her. Beth Anne tried to look out her window. She saw the castle and the gates, which were opening. In a few minutes they would be inside. She hoped the owner was kind and wouldn’t turn them away. That would defeat the whole purpose of picking this direction.

The pounding of the horses’ hooves couldn’t even be heard above the thunder. Her driver must be soaked and angry now. She would have to give him the rest of her money for what happened. That meant she was now broke. She had no money left. How much longer can she run? She wanted to run until she felt safe and she didn’t feel safe even being lost and near a castle so mysteriously absent from society.
